Astrid Lindgren

Astrid Lindgren was a Swedish author of children's books, best known for creating Pippi Longstocking—the red-haired, superhumanly strong girl who lives alone and defies adult authority.

Lindgren's work, which includes the Karlsson-on-the-Roof and Children of Noisy Village series, made her one of the most widely translated authors in history.

Her books celebrate childhood independence and imagination, often featuring resourceful children navigating worlds with minimal adult supervision.
