wet seasons
Annual flooding times
Wet seasons are periods of the year when a region receives most of its rainfall, typically lasting several months.
The term appears mainly in tropical and subtropical climates, where weather divides into wet and dry seasons rather than the four-season pattern of temperate zones: Farmers plant rice at the start of the wet season.
Also called rainy seasons.
