vacuum packaging
Oxygen-free food storage
Vacuum packaging is a method of sealing food or other items in airtight containers after removing the air, which slows spoilage and extends shelf life.
The process uses special bags or containers and a machine that extracts air before sealing: Vacuum packaging kept the meat fresh for weeks.
The technique is standard in commercial food processing and increasingly common in home kitchens.
