unholster
Remove from holster
To unholster is to draw a weapon from its holster—the fitted case worn at the hip or under the arm: The officer unholstered her firearm.
The word applies almost exclusively to handguns.
Figuratively, to unholster something is to ready it for use after a period of inactivity: Time to unholster my negotiating skills.
