Unelastic describes something that doesn't stretch or spring back—the opposite of elastic.
A material that's unelastic won't give when pulled: unelastic fabric.
The word applies figuratively to things that don't adapt or respond flexibly: unelastic demand in economics refers to goods people buy regardless of price changes.
His unelastic thinking couldn't accommodate new evidence.
