uneducated guesses
Shots in dark
Uneducated guesses are attempts to answer or predict without relevant knowledge or information—the opposite of educated guesses, which draw on experience or partial evidence.
The phrase often appears in self-deprecating contexts: I'm just making uneducated guesses here, but maybe the fuse blew.
It can also dismiss others' speculation as uninformed.
