uncocked
Hammer not back
Uncocked describes a firearm whose hammer or striker is not in the firing position, making it safer to handle: He lowered the hammer and set the uncocked pistol on the table.
By extension, anything previously cocked—tilted or raised—can be uncocked: an uncocked hat brim, an uncocked eyebrow returning to rest.
