stand and deliver

Robbery's classic command

Stand and deliver is a command to halt and surrender valuables, historically shouted by highwaymen robbing travelers: The masked rider blocked the coach and cried, "Stand and deliver!".

The phrase survives mainly as a literary or theatrical flourish.

Extended uses suggest confronting someone with a demand for immediate action or accountability.
