shared secret
Between-us information only
A shared secret is information known only to parties who need it for authentication or encryption.
In cryptography, two communicating parties establish a shared secret to secure their exchange—anyone intercepting the message lacks the key to decode it.
The term also applies more casually to confidential information between friends or collaborators: The recipe was their shared secret.
