seized goods
Taken illegal merchandise
Seized goods are items confiscated by authorities—typically law enforcement, customs, or courts.
Property may be seized as evidence in criminal investigations, for nonpayment of taxes, or when crossing borders illegally: The warehouse was full of seized goods from drug raids.
Seized goods are often held pending legal proceedings, then auctioned, destroyed, or returned depending on the outcome.
