security threads
Currency's hidden stripes
Security threads are thin strips embedded in paper currency, passports, and other documents to prevent counterfeiting.
The threads may be visible as dark lines when held to light, or they may contain microprinting, color-shifting elements, or holographic features.
Hold the bill up to the light to see the security thread.
