retackled

Took on anew

Retackled is the past tense of retackle, meaning to tackle again.

In football or rugby, a defender who retackled a ball carrier brought them down after a previous attempt failed or after they broke free: He slipped the first hit but was retackled at the line of scrimmage.

The word also applies to taking on a problem or project anew: She retackled the budget after finding errors.
