rediagnosis
Revised condition identification
Rediagnosis is the act of diagnosing again—reassessing a medical condition after an initial diagnosis proves incomplete, incorrect, or outdated.
A patient might seek rediagnosis after symptoms persist despite treatment, or when new information suggests the original assessment was wrong: The rediagnosis revealed it was lupus, not fibromyalgia.
