quadband
Four-frequency phone capability
Quadband describes a mobile phone or other wireless device capable of operating on four different frequency bands, typically allowing it to work across cellular networks in most countries worldwide.
The term emerged in the early 2000s as global travelers needed phones that could switch between the various GSM frequencies used in North America, Europe, and elsewhere.
Make sure you get a quadband phone before your trip overseas.
