permanent exhibitions
Always-open museum galleries
Permanent exhibitions are displays in museums, galleries, or similar institutions that remain on view indefinitely, as opposed to temporary or traveling exhibitions.
They typically showcase a collection's core holdings or define the institution's identity: The permanent exhibition traces the history of flight from the Wright brothers to the Space Age.
Despite the name, permanent exhibitions do get updated or reorganized over time.
