nainsook
Lightweight white fabric
Nainsook is a soft, lightweight cotton fabric with a slight luster, traditionally used for baby clothes, lingerie, and handkerchiefs.
The fabric is similar to muslin but finer and slightly glossy on one side: a christening gown of white nainsook.
The word comes from Hindi.
