music snob
Vinyl-obsessed critic type
A music snob is someone who considers their musical taste superior and judges others for liking what they deem inferior—usually mainstream or popular music.
The music snob favors obscure artists, older recordings, or technically demanding genres, and makes sure you know it: He's such a music snob—he won't listen to anything recorded after 1975.
The term is usually pejorative, suggesting pretension over genuine appreciation.
