languishers

People wasting away

Languishers are people who languish—those who exist in a state of stagnation or diminished vitality without actively suffering.

The term gained currency from psychology describing a middle ground between flourishing and depression: Languishers aren't depressed, but they're not thriving either.

Someone might be a languisher temporarily or dispositionally.
