Lace edging is a narrow strip of lace used to trim or border fabric items—tablecloths, handkerchiefs, lingerie, pillowcases.
Unlike broader lace panels, edging is designed specifically to finish an edge: She sewed lace edging around the collar.
The term applies both to the material sold by the yard and to the decorative border once attached.
