hot reading
Cheating cold reader
Hot reading is a technique used by psychics, mediums, and mentalists where they research a subject beforehand rather than relying on cold reading's real-time guesswork.
The performer gathers information through background checks, social media, overheard conversations, or planted accomplices, then presents this knowledge as if it came from supernatural insight.
The medium's hot reading was exposed when someone found her assistant's notes on audience members.
