A hen do is a British term for a party celebrating a woman about to be married—the equivalent of American "bachelorette party." The hen is the bride-to-be, and her friends organize an evening or weekend of festivities: We're going to Barcelona for Sophie's hen do.
The male equivalent is a stag do.
