held mail
Delivery on pause
Held mail is mail that the postal service keeps at the post office instead of delivering, typically at the recipient's request during travel or absence.
The service prevents mail from accumulating in an unattended mailbox: We put in a hold mail request before the vacation.
Also called a mail hold.
