haired
Possessing head strands
Haired describes having hair of a particular kind, almost always with a modifier: long-haired, fair-haired, gray-haired.
The word rarely stands alone—you wouldn't call someone simply "haired." A fair-haired boy is a favorite or protégé.
In biology, haired distinguishes species: hairy-haired bat.
