gingerbread men
Frosted holiday cookies
Gingerbread men are cookies shaped like human figures, made from gingerbread—a spiced dough flavored with ginger and molasses.
They're traditionally decorated with icing to suggest faces and clothing.
Associated with Christmas baking, they appear in the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel and the story of the runaway gingerbread man: Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!
