game passes

Game passes are purchasable items in video games—especially on platforms like Roblox—that grant players special abilities, access to restricted areas, or cosmetic upgrades within a specific game.

Unlike subscriptions, they're typically one-time purchases that permanently unlock content: I bought a game pass that lets me skip the tutorial.

Developers use them to monetize free-to-play games.
