forwarding addresses
Where mail follows
A forwarding address is where mail should be sent after someone moves from their previous location.
When you leave a residence or close a business, you file a forwarding address with the postal service so correspondence reaches you: We left a forwarding address with the landlord.
The plural often appears in contexts of evasion—someone who vanishes without leaving forwarding addresses doesn't want to be found.
