Clumsy keyboard error
Fat-finger describes errors made by accidentally pressing wrong keys or buttons, typically on a keyboard or touchscreen, because fingers are too large or clumsy for the input device.
As a verb, to fat-finger is to make such an error: I fat-fingered my password three times and got locked out.
The term appears frequently in financial contexts, where a mistyped trade can have costly consequences: A fat-finger error caused him to sell a million shares instead of a thousand.
