disconsolation
Deep, inconsolable sorrow
Disconsolation is the state of being disconsolate—deep, inconsolable grief or dejection.
The word is rare, with *disconsolateness* serving the same function.
Most writers reach for *desolation* or simply describe someone as *disconsolate* rather than naming the condition itself: Her disconsolation after the loss was complete.
