blighters
Bothersome little wretches
Blighters is the plural of blighter, a British informal term for a person, usually male.
It can be mildly contemptuous—those blighters never pay on time—or affectionate: the poor blighter lost his job.
The word derives from blight, suggesting someone troublesome or pitiable.
It sounds dated and is rarely heard outside British contexts.
