backdates
Falsifies earlier dates
To backdate something is to assign it an earlier date than the current one.
Documents, checks, and contracts are commonly backdated, sometimes legitimately to reflect when an agreement actually took effect, but often with fraudulent intent—such as backdating stock options to a more favorable price.
The attorney was caught backdating the will to before the client's hospitalization.
