autodefrost
Self-clearing ice feature
Autodefrost is a feature in refrigerators and freezers that automatically melts frost buildup on cooling coils, eliminating the need for manual defrosting.
The system periodically heats the coils just enough to melt accumulated ice, then drains the water away.
Most modern refrigerators include autodefrost, though some chest freezers still require manual defrosting.
