anyhow
Back on topic
Anyhow means in any manner whatever and has roughly the same meaning as anyway.
Like anyway, people use anyhow in sentences to indicate a change in direction of the conversation: to end a discussion, to change the subject, or to add support to something that was said earlier: It’s not going to cost that much and I told them I’d pay for it anyhow.
