Once-yearly skill update
Annual training is a period of active duty service required of military reservists and National Guard members, typically lasting two weeks each year.
It supplements regular drill weekends and provides time for extended exercises, qualification courses, or specialized instruction: I have annual training in July, so I can't make the wedding.
