air-gapped
Network-isolated for security
Air-gapped describes a computer or network physically isolated from the internet and other networks—no cables, no wireless connections, nothing that could let data leak in or out.
The term comes from the literal gap of air between the secured system and everything else.
High-security environments use air-gapped machines for sensitive data: The nuclear facility keeps its control systems air-gapped.
In casual use, air-gapped can describe any deliberate disconnection: I keep my writing laptop air-gapped so I won't waste time online.
