after-school activities
Clubs following class
After-school activities are organized programs for children during the hours between school dismissal and when parents return from work.
These include sports, clubs, tutoring, arts programs, and supervised care.
The term implies structured engagement rather than simply going home: My kids have after-school activities every day this week.
Such programs serve both educational enrichment and practical childcare needs.
