active resistance
Opposing through action
Active resistance is deliberate physical opposition to authority or control, as distinguished from passive resistance or mere noncompliance.
In law enforcement contexts, it describes a suspect who struggles, fights back, or attempts to flee: The officer reported the detainee engaged in active resistance.
The term also applies to organized armed opposition, particularly underground movements against occupying forces during wartime.
