Naked and Afraid is an American reality television series in which pairs of survivalists are left in wilderness locations without clothing, food, or water for 21 days.
The title has become shorthand for any situation of extreme vulnerability or unpreparedness: I showed up to the meeting naked and afraid—no notes, no slides, nothing.
