I care
This matters deeply
I care is a statement of emotional investment or concern.
It can be sincere I care about what happens to you or, especially with emphasis, defensive against accusations of indifference I do care, I just don't know how to help.
In sarcastic or dismissive contexts, like I care and see if I care mean the opposite—that the speaker is pointedly unconcerned.
