House Lannister
Casterly Rock rulers
House Lannister is one of the Great Houses in George R.R.
Martin's *A Song of Ice and Fire* series and its television adaptation *Game of Thrones*.
The Lannisters rule the Westerlands from Casterly Rock and are known for their immense wealth, political cunning, and the family motto "A Lannister always pays his debts"—a phrase that promises both reward and revenge.
The house is associated with lions and the color gold.
The Lannisters make the Borgias look like amateurs.
