Gothamites are residents of Gotham, most commonly referring to inhabitants of Gotham City in the Batman comics and related media: The Gothamites lived in fear of the Joker's next move.
Since Gotham is also a nickname for New York City, Gothamites occasionally describes New Yorkers, though this usage is literary and uncommon.
