Electric Slide

Wedding reception staple

The Electric Slide is a line dance performed to a set pattern of steps—grapevines, slides, and turns—usually to R&B or pop music.

It became a staple of weddings, parties, and school dances in the 1980s and remains ubiquitous at group celebrations: Everyone got up for the Electric Slide.

The dance is performed in lines facing the same direction, with dancers turning ninety degrees at intervals.
