DACA recipients
Childhood arrival immigrants
DACA recipients are immigrants who entered the United States without authorization as children and received protection from deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, established in 2012.
Often called Dreamers, they can obtain work permits and driver's licenses but lack a path to permanent residency: Many DACA recipients have lived in the U.S. for most of their lives.
