40th anniversary
Four decades together
A 40th anniversary marks forty years since a significant event—typically a wedding, but also the founding of an institution or other milestone.
The 40th wedding anniversary is traditionally associated with rubies: They celebrated their ruby anniversary with a trip to Paris.
The company held a gala for its 40th anniversary.
