unsufferable

Too awful enduring

Unsufferable is a nonstandard variant of insufferable, meaning unbearable or intolerable.

The standard form uses the Latin prefix in-, but some speakers substitute un-, perhaps by analogy with other negatives.

Most editors would mark it as an error: His unsufferable arrogance alienated everyone.
