Uncoded describes something that has not been converted into code or assigned a coding system.
In research and data analysis, uncoded responses or data remain in their raw form, not yet categorized or classified: The uncoded survey answers sat in a pile awaiting analysis.
In genetics, uncoded regions of DNA do not specify protein sequences.
Something uncoded may also simply lack a code number or identifier that would normally be assigned.
