smacked out

Doped into oblivion

Smacked out means intoxicated on heroin or other opiates, in a stupor from the drug.

Smack is slang for heroin, and someone smacked out is visibly under its influence—drowsy, nodding off, disconnected: He was too smacked out to hold a conversation.

The phrase can extend to any drug-induced state of heavy sedation.
