rescattered

Thrown apart anew

Rescattered means scattered again or scattered back.

The term appears primarily in physics, describing particles or waves that have been deflected or dispersed a second time after an initial scattering event: Some of the rescattered electrons return to the parent ion.

Outside technical contexts, it simply means dispersed once more: The wind rescattered the leaves she had just raked into piles.
