puffy cheeks
Blown-up cheek look
Puffy cheeks are cheeks that appear swollen, rounded, or inflated beyond their normal contour.
The puffiness may come from fluid retention, dental work, allergic reaction, or simply the natural fullness of a child's face.
Chipmunks stuffing food create the archetypal image.
To puff out one's cheeks is to inflate them deliberately with air: He puffed his cheeks in frustration.
