progressive dinner
Multi-home meal
A progressive dinner is a meal where guests travel from one location to another for each course—appetizers at one house, main course at another, dessert at a third.
The format distributes hosting duties and adds variety: We organized a progressive dinner through the neighborhood.
Sometimes called a safari supper.
