private lands
Owned real estate
Private lands are areas owned by individuals, corporations, or non-governmental organizations rather than by the government.
The term appears most often in discussions of conservation, hunting rights, and land use policy, where the distinction between private and public lands determines who may access the property and what activities are permitted: Much of the wildlife habitat in the region exists on private lands.
